La Bottega da Rena

As many of you already know, I love Portovenere.  I could write about it just about every blog. I always have something to say or show about the place.  It's magic to me.  There is a cast-full of "characters" that live in the village.  One of my favorites is this charming man here:

"Vi presento" Rena and his wonderful ceramic studio up a small set of stairs from the main carruggio of the village (Via Capellini).  This man has some of the most charming and original "seaside" art pieces I have ever seen (and bought!).  Take a look:

And you may remember our "new addition":

Or the "bombinere" from the wedding back in June:

If you ever have the chance to visit Portovenere, do make a point of visiting Rena and see what goodies he might have for you.  Oh, and be sure to leave a little space in your suitcase!

It has been 10 years since I have visited Portovenere and I really would like to head back. So hopefully we can and go and see Rena's shop in person. I think I would definitely buy one of those boats!

Ciao Anne - I think you left 2 and I don't know where they went! You'll just need to come back for some ceramics, huh?! :)

I really love that place, it's so positive and creative. I especially loved visiting Portovenere with you, the ultimate tourguide :)

I think blogger was having problems the last few days, I had the disappearing comment issue as well.
